Level 3 Classroom Teacher Stage 2

 

APPLYING FOR LEVEL 3 CLASSROOM TEACHER  - STAGE TWO

 

 

 PDT Consultancy is again presenting a course to assist applicants prepare for the Reflective Practice Stage  of the Level 3 Teacher application process. Applicants who attended courses run by PDT Consultancy in the previous rounds have had a high success rate.

 

This course will focus on preparing the skills involved in making effective presentations and facilitating groups within the context of the Reflective Practice.  There will be opportunity to practice these skills within small groups.

Writing Applications for Teaching Positions

WRITING APPLICATIONS FOR TEACHING POSITIONS

 

PDT Consultancy is offering workshops to support teachers prepare written applications for teaching positions that reflect current system changes.

 

This workshop will explore:

  • the requirements of a curriculum vitae and covering letter
  • the need to plan written responses that reflect the work related requirments in the advertised vacancy in the context of the school
  • the elements that contribute to a competitive application 

For the last 17 years PDT Consultancy has trained both applicants and panels in application and selection skills for teaching positions.  PDT has also provided these services across all levels of the public sector.

Relevance to the Public Sector

The program provides participants with skills and knowledge appropriate to staff selection within the Public Sector. All information provided will be consistent with E.E.O. principles, behavioural selection processes and meet the requirements of public sector standards in human resource management. The consultants will provide information on the compliance requirements of the Recruitment, Selection and Appointment Standard

The course addresses the specific requirements of those personnel required to manage the selection process as well as staff required to participate as panel members. The content of the course is based on a combination of the provision of information, the application of knowledge and extensive skill practice.

Course Outcomes

The Selection Training Course would enable participants to:

  • Aquire knowledge and understanding of selection process, legal implications and appointment procedures, contextualised to organisational requirements,

  • Explore a variety of selection techniques including methods other than written applications, referee checks and interviews,

  • Practise shortlisting and preparing interview questions,

  • Experience an interview situation, including issues related to making the decision, and

  • Examine the policy and logistical arrangements for:

    • Implementing a range of selection techniques,

    • Convening a panel,

    • Preparing interview arrangements,

    • Checking referees,

    • Preparing documentation on the selection, and

    • Giving feedback to applicants.
