Twenty first century organisations need staff to actively engage in their career and skill development. This begins with exploring and shaping their emotional intelligence to work with colleagues and clients. Being able to understand the impact of positivity, resilience and stress management on wellbeing and employability supports an individual’s capacity to navigate their career and work effectively in contemporary organisations.
Future and emerging leadership development is essential for those staff needing to shift their focus from self to having responsibility for the productivity of others. PDT Consultancy can provide a series of customised workshops that reflect your organisation’s identified focus for leadership development from our range of learning opportunities.
PDT offers workshops that can be built with a single or multi-purpose focus in the following areas:
We bring extensive experience in using MBTI, EQ-I 2.0 and the EQ 360 instruments. Workshops enable participants to reflect on the impact of different interpersonal styles and approaches and how to adapt to the needs and complexities of varying situations. This is often a base to other development experiences. We are experienced in designing and delivering a workshop series for aspiring and new leaders to understand and build capability when responsible for influencing the outcomes of others. New leaders need to be mindful of the changed context of their responsibilities and how that impacts on workplace relationships. Workshops can be developed to include the key elements of supervisory processes from induction and delegation through to performance development and feedback. Building and working with teams can also be integrated into the learning experience. This program can be designed to assist in the development of constructive strategies to increase personal resources in times of frustration and stress. Participants can explore sources of life-stress, recognising that individuals may experience the impacts differently. This workshop will focus on strategies to use to support people through change, as they come to terms with what is required in the changed situation. It will explore the difference between change and transition and the ways in which change needs to be lead, if it is to be effective and productive. This workshop provides practical strategies for managing high volume workloads and addressing ‘decision fatigue’. Participants explore personal productivity styles, managing workplace distractions, taking control of the situation and frameworks for prioritising to achieve good outcomes in pressured situations. This workshop is designed to provide participants with an awareness of current job application techniques when applying for positions within the Western Australian Public Sector. Participants practise addressing job-related requirements/selection criteria in writing and at interview. This workshop provides contemporary information on career issues, trends and stages. Participants engage in skills analysis, strategies for extending and identifying transferable skills, and are better prepared to understand what they have to offer. With this insight they can develop a career action plan.Emotional Intelligence
